The announcement of this wouldn't be to try and spoil Apple's party on Friday, when the iPad gets its UK debut? No, we're sure it's just a total coincidence!

The Dell Streak is a 5-inch tablet that runs on Android, Android OS 1.6 to be exact. It is one of a range of tablet computers coming from Dell, with 7 and 10-inch versions on the horizon.

Powered by the almost obligatory Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, clocked at 1GHz, the tablet has a 5-inch display that explains why this isn't just another Android smartphone. However, while it may not be a phone - it still has a 5-megapixel camera (with dual LED flash), GPS, 3G and Wi-Fi.

There's also expandable memory, so you don't have to decide which model to get on day one - although it does mean topping out at 32GB, giving the iPad the edge.

Dell's new device will be exclusive on O2 from early June, available from O2 or Carphone Warehouse.
